Frequently asked questions
How much does a concrete driveway cost in Miami?
National figures from HomeGuide for 2026 put a concrete driveway at $6 to $15 per square foot, or $2,400 to $8,600 for a two-car driveway. Those are not our quotes. Size, tear-out, base work, access and finish set your price. Our concrete cost guide has the details.
What damages concrete most in Miami?
Salt, water and tree roots. There is no frost here. Salt air rusts steel that sits too close to the surface, washed-out fill lets slabs sink, and shallow roots lift panels. A good base, steel set deep in the slab and proper drainage are the defence.
Do I need a permit for a driveway or patio in Miami?
Plan on it. Building departments in Miami-Dade commonly require permits for driveways, slabs and paving, and work on the street side of your lot needs right of way approval. We check with the office for your address before work starts.
Who is responsible for the sidewalk in front of my house?
In the City of Miami, the city says it maintains public sidewalks, but the property owner is responsible for repairs where the sidewalk is connected to or part of a driveway. Sidewalks on state and county roads, and in other cities, have their own rules.
How long before I can use new concrete?
Walk on it after 1 to 2 days and drive a car on it after about 7 days. Keep heavy trucks off for about 28 days, when it reaches its design strength.
Who contacts Sunshine 811 before digging?
The person doing the digging. Florida requires notice at least two full business days before digging, and the marks are good for 30 calendar days. Private lines such as sprinklers and pool pipes are not marked.
Do you remove the old concrete?
Yes. Tear-out and haul-away are part of our quote when a replacement is needed.
Can cracked concrete be repaired?
Small cracks and surface damage can often be repaired or resurfaced. Slabs that have sunk or broken up usually need to be replaced. We tell you which applies.
Do I need a permit for concrete work in Miami?
Driveway approaches, sidewalks and structural slabs often need a permit. We check the rules for your address.
